I LOVE ankle boots, when it comes to autumn and winter, I practically live in them! I own so many, but every year I end up owning more, it really is a bit of a problem! Nothing can beat a classic pair of black leather boots, but recently my eye has been drawn to some more ‘out there’ designs. So far I’ve managed to stop myself from purchasing any (not sure how long that is going to last), but I thought I would put together some of my favourites to share with you all! Just because my boot collection is a bit out of control doesn’t mean I can’t just look at new ones right?!
As a glitter lover, I immediately fell in love with these boots. I’ve got a real thing for stars too at the moment which definitely caught my eye too! I can imagine wearing these for a night out nearer Christmas, I think they would be just perfect!
Be still my heart! I have a serious love for anything leopard print this season – it’s just SO gorgeous! I like the fact that these boots are a statement, but still look pretty practical. I can imagine pairing these with endless different jeans and t-shirt combos. Out of all of the boots in this post these are the ones I am most oh-so-tempted by!
Now these boots are definitely a statement! I have to be honest, if I owned these I probably wouldn’t get that much wear out of them.. but they are still cool aren’t they?! I can imagine these paired with a little black dress for a night out, I think they would really pop! Definitely not for the faint of heart, but an amazing statement piece.
Another trend that I am super into at the moment is mustard. Mustard is just the most perfect colour for autumn, bold but muted at the same time. These little boots are fairly simple in comparison to some of the others on this list, but regardless of that they are gorgeous! The perfect pick me up to a simple autumn outfit in my opinion!
Aren’t these boots pretty? These make me feel really festive for some reason, I’m thinking maybe because the purple reminds me of a tub of Quality Street! I love a boot with a bit of embellishment, and the embellishment on these is a bit different to your standard stud (not to say that I don’t love a studded boot, because I do). These are just a little different, and that I absolutely love.
Now, I’m going to be honest, these are more the type of boot I wish I could wear.. but in reality I would walk 5 metres and probably break my ankle! That aside though, aren’t they beautiful?! I feel as though the lilac is easy to wear throughout all different seasons, and would definitely be a great transitional piece for spring (a bit far off I know). I LOVE the contrast of the suede material with the patent – they are sexy, but soft at the same time. Now if someone could just teach me how to stop being a clutz and walk in a pair of killer heels that would be great!
My statement pair of boots from last year were a plain, bright red pair (from Primark if you were wondering) which I still love! I wanted to find a red option that was just a little different for this list. These ones are slightly more muted in the colour, and have a lot more detail with the heel and zip up the front. Super chic and stylish, and probably one of the easier shades of red boot to pull off if you are a bit nervous of the colour!
These give me full on 80s vibes and I love that! The colour is seriously beautiful, a good midnight blue always steals my heart, and the velvet finish just makes these boots look even more luxe. Another pair that I can picture being a hit for the festive party season, plus they are platform so would give me a bit of height without the pain of normal heels!
I can imagine these boots being worn by a woman who has got her shit together! In my head, she is classy and chic, and can walk in stilettos without falling over (definitely not me!). The animal print trend is coming through here again, and whilst I’m not as in love with the snakeskin effect as I am leopard print at the moment, it is still bang on trend and pretty dang gorgeous!
If you are a bit scared of wearing statement boots, then perhaps start with a pair like this to break you in gently. They are not bold in colour, but with studs all over I would still consider them a statement! You will very rarely go wrong with a black boot, they are so versatile and easy to style with almost anything. The studs on these give them just that little extra detail that makes them stand out from the crowd!
Sometimes you’ve just got to have a bit of hot, barbie pink in your life. What better way to do it than wearing it on your feet?! This colour is BOLD, so I feel as though wearing little pops of it is a great way of incorporating it into your wardrobe. Even if you’re not usually a pink person, I feel like styled correctly these could find a spot in anyone’s wardrobe.
Yes that’s right, MORE MUSTARD! These are much less subtle than the other mustard pair on this list, but I feel as though with the thick chunky soles these are a proper winter boot! Although big, clompy boots might not be as much my style as they were a few years ago, they still have a bit of a special place in my heart. Definitely more of a casual boot for me, I can picture myself clomping down the highstreet, shopping bags in hand, like it was my own personal catwalk in these (but not without tripping over at some point).
So those are my top ankle boot picks for the autumn and winter season. There’s some real beauties out there at the moment, I just need to win the lottery so I can buy them all! If I had to pick one pair, it would definitely have the be the leopard print pair, they are just so on trend and right up my alley!
Let me know what your favourites are!
