Top 5 Skincare Products

I think skincare is SO important, especially if you want to improve your makeup. The better your canvas is, the easier doing your makeup will be! Finding the right products for your skin can be a bit of a task, everyone’s skin is different so it’s definitely a personal thing. I’m always switching up my routine, but I thought I would share my current 5 absolute favourites with you for a little bit of skincare inspo!

Clinique Moisture Surge

Clinique Moisture Surge

This is a new addition to my routine, but it’s a product I have fallen for quickly! I’ve been struggling to find a night cream that works for my skin for ages, but I find so many of them are just too rich for my oily face! I was recently recommended this by the lady at my local Clinique counter, and I have to say it’s fast become a favourite! I love the fact it has a gel formula, and is oil free so doesn’t clog my pores or make me feel any oilier than I usually would. It just leaves my skin with a super plumped, hydrated feeling that lasts AGES! This product is a little on the pricey side, but a little bit goes a long way so I’m hoping it’s going to last me a pretty long time!

Dr Paw Paw Balm

Dr Paw Paw Balm

I got this little sample ages ago in a Birchbox, and it sat in a draw neglected for months. As you can probably tell I wasn’t really expecting that much, but boy was I wrong! This little balm is an absolute lifesaver! It is marketed as a multi use balm, but I have just been using it as a lip balm – it honestly fixes all manner of chapped lips and dryness! It is a fairly thick formula, but nothing overly sticky or uncomfortable. This little guy is going to be my best friend throughout the winter months when the dreaded chapped lip season comes around again!

Garnier Micellar Water

Garnier Micellar Water

I have got through countless bottles of this stuff, I just love it SO damn much! I mostly use it as a quick way of cleansing my face in the morning before running out the door for work. It is pretty versatile though so I use to remove my makeup sometimes too, it’s nice to use as a pre-cleanse to get the majority of my makeup off before properly washing my face and its also a gentle way of removing stubborn eye makeup or liquid lipstick. I have no idea of the science behind micellar water, but I just feel as though it lifts so much more dirt, oil and ick from my skin than I would just rinsing my face with normal water. If you are on a budget with your skincare this is a product I would highly recommend.

Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser

Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser

This cleanser is my absolute holy grail, I’ve been using it for quite a while now and I don’t see that changing any time soon. I’ve spoken about this product a million times before, but in case you are new around here this is the only product I have found has made a significant difference to my rosacea. My redness started to subside within weeks of me starting to use this product, and it has just generally been a lot better since. I still have the odd flare up here and there, and it hasn’t completely cured me, but it’s the best and most effective product I have tried by far! So highly recommended to any rosacea sufferers out there, or even just someone with sensitive skin.

Lush Breath Of Fresh Air Toner Water

Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner Water

I was always skeptical of toners until I tried this one. I had tried a few over the years but they never really seemed to have any noticeable effect on my skin (either that or they just irritated it). It all changed when I picked this one up though. It comes in a spray form, which I really enjoy as it’s ridiculously quick and easy to apply, and feels extra cooling and soothing on the skin. This is also the only toner that I have noticed makes my skin feel more balanced, I like to give it a quick spritz if my face is feeling particularly oily and it helps keep the oil at bay. I couldn’t be without this little guy anymore!

So those are my top 5 skincare products currently in my skincare rotation. My main tips for anyone just starting out with their skincare regime, is to work out your skin type, do your research and experiment with different products! Not every product will work for you, but if you have an idea of what ingredients will work for your kind of skin you can make some educated purchases and most products will state what type of skin they are suitable for. I find skincare so rewarding when you finally see your skin improving – it is so worth it!

What are your favourite skincare products?
